vacation program

Day 1 : Arrive Bangkok
Meet and greet at Bangkok's International Airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in and
overnight accommodation at your hotel located on the banks of the Chao Phraya riverside.

Day 2 : Bangkok
The Grand Palace and the adjusted Wat Phra Keo are the “must see”- sights of Bangkok. The Grand Palace served as the official royal residence until the late 40's and used today for official
ceremonies. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Keo), is home to most revered Buddhaimage
in the kingdom and regarded as the most important of all Thai- temples and is not to be
missed by any visitor of the capitol. Then we hop on a boat as to visit the quieter side of Bangkok
and explore the old city by boat. The houses are built on the banks or even on the river and you will
experience a kind of tranquility, who would have never thought to be possible in Bangkok. Apart
from seeing this totally different side of the metropolis, you will make a stop at most famous and
most photographed landmark in bangkok: the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). The main pagoda is
covered with bits of glass and ceramic, sparkeling in the sun and most impressive at sunrise.
Returning to the hotel directly by boat
Your hotel is located in the old part of Bangkok allowing you to explore the surrounding area on your
own, the famous streat of Khao San is a short walk away should you want to venture out at night.

Day 3 : Bangkok – Kanchanaburi – Hellfire Pass
Early morning you will set out to visit the popular flaoting markets of Damnoen Saduak, where many
excellent photo- opportunities await you, when the vendors sell their good from boat to boat or to the people on the edge of the canals. You might even try your negotiating skills here.
Drive to Kanchanaburi, located west of Bangkok. Upon arrival, visit the Thailand–Burma Railway
Center a museum, dedicated to the history of the Thailand–Burma Railway and the famous Bridge
over the River Kwai. Continue to the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum and do some trekking on the
Hellfire Pass Walking Trails to Hintok Station, where you will be picked up by a mini van and be
transferred back to the camp. Dinner will be served at Hintok River Camp, where you spend the
night.

Day 4 : Hellfire Pass – River Kwai
Start the day before breakfast to go biking to a nearby temple, offer food to the monks and receive their blessings, before you go back to the camp for your own breakfast. After breakfast, check out and head downstream to the River Kwai Jungle Rafts where you can visit a Mon- village. You may also take an optional elephant ride (chargeable). Lunch will be served at the hotel, with afternoon at
your own leisure. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and witness some classical Mon- dances before tugging in for the night.

Day 5 : River Kwai – Kanchanaburi – Ayuthaya
After breakfast you have the morning at your own leisure before checking out at noon and having lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, take a scenic ride on the Death Railway across the valleys of the River Kwai. In the afternoon, we head to the ancient city of Ayuthaya.

Day 6 : Ayuthaya – Bang Pahan
After breakfast you will go to select your bicycle and helmet, begin with an exploration of the island -the ancient city of Ayutthaya, experiencing some of the highlights. Before heading out, we will watch an informative overview of Ayuthaya at the multimedia information complex in the exhibition centre at the Old City Hall. We then ride to see some of the cities most celebrated temples and churches, including;

Wat Putthaisawan, the temple is said to have been built in the 14th century by King Ramathibodi I, the founder of Ayutthaya, on the site where he lived before setting up the capital on the other side of the river. St. Joseph Catholic Church lies on the opposite bank of the Chaophraya River from the island-city. The Catholic church was founded in the mid-seventeenth century by French missionaries, on land granted by King Narai. Standing right on the river, Wat Chai Wattanaram is, in my view, one of the most impressive of the remaining monuments of old Ayuthaya. It was built in 1629 by King Prasat Tong, probably on the site of his mother's cremation. King Prasat Tong was actually a commoner who overthrew the previous king and took the throne. The monastary may well have been established to assert his legitimacy to the throne. Out in the flat plain of rice fields and fish ponds northwest of town rises the stark white stupa of Wat Phu Khao Thong. The name literally translates to "Golden Mount." The site has been a temple since 1569 We guarantee you won’t be disappointed so ensure you have your cameras ready. After lunch, it’s back on your bike as we ride through the back streets taking in the green scenery of the rural heartland of the central plain to explore many local communities and take part of the villagers and their day-to-day activities. We may even cross paths with an elephant or a water buffalo along the way. We will arrive at our homestay at approximately 4.00pm. (Cycling today: 36kms).

Day 7 : bang panhan - ayuthaya - nonthaburi
We rise early today to join the local people in a merit-making ceremony by offering food to the Buddhist monks on their morning alms round. After breakfast, we'll explore the local village before kayaking our way back to Ayutthaya on the Lopburi river. This unique position offers you the opportunity to pass by many temples, stupa’s and see just how important the river is to the livelihoods of the Ayutthaya people. Be prepared to do lots of waving as the local people welcome you to their city. We Kayak at a pace that suits you, so enjoy the serenity and peacefulness this part of the journey allows.

A highlight on your return will be a visit to the elephant camp of Ayutthaya where you’ll be able to feed and get ‘up close and personal’ to one of nature’s biggest animals. Who knows, you may even encounter a baby elephant. Now is the time to relax as the remainder of the journey is by converted rice barge as we cruise our way back to Ayutthaya along the river. Have your cameras ready as we pass many historical sites. As we arrive back in Ayutthaya at approximately 4.30pm, we must bid you farewell and hope you have discovered a few secrets of our treasured city. (Kayaking: 3 hours, cruising: 1 hour).

We then head to Nonthaburi, a small town located on the outskirts of Bangkok and situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. We will overnighthere before heading off to the beach.

Day 8 : nonthaburi - krabi
Morning at leisure to relax, watch the river and reminisce on your journey. Mid morning pick up for the airport for your flight to Krabi on the Andaman Sea. Your flight to Krabi takes approximatley one hour, shortly before approaching the airport you'll see mangrove and small river passageways ….a beautiful sight. Upon arrival in Krabi you'll be picked up and transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight accommodation.

Day 9 : Krabi
About half way along the coast between Than Bok Khorani and Krabi town is a bay of mangroves that may be the most beautiful in all of Thailand. Here, bays and canyons are like passageways. Recently discovered, this setting superb for having a first time encounter with this ecosystem. In addition, there are very rich faunas. The region contains good examples of traditional villages. Certainly a highlight of this setting is narrow channels cut through two towering karst complexes which is passable during all but extreme low tide periods. Disney world could never create a more beautiful jungle river cruise than this. Several species of Kingfishers, Little Herons and Crab-Eating Macaques are almost guaranteed sightings in the remains of a jewel destination.

Day 10 - 11 : Krabi
Free day at leisure for personal activities or optional tours.

Day 12 : Depart Krabi
Pick-up from your hotel and transfer to Krabi airport for your flight out.
